PES Group photo competition: and the winners are…
Brussels, 17 June 2007
The jury of the second edition of the photo competition organised by the PES Group in the Committee of the Regions met this Monday to select the 6 winning photos. The choice was really difficult as more than 400 photos were submitted and the theme offered the possibility of various interpretations to the participants.
In order to make their choice, jury members focused on the photos which were the most creative, artistic - while remaining amateur, and which were representative of different aspects of Europe.
The jury was presided by Karl-Heinz KLÄR, 1st Vice-President of the PES Group and State Secretary for European and Federal Affairs in the Region of Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany). Karl-Heinz KLÄR is involved in the German Rückblende prize for political photography and caricature, which has become famous over the years in Germany.
