The eco-centre will help to foster environmental education and awareness. Awareness of the current state of protected areas and human impact on the environment will contribute to the conservation of the protected areas and encourage visitors to reflect on current problems and their solutions.

The Čunovo eco-centre project involves the renovation of the manor house in Čunovo, with the aim of creating a centre for environmental education and raising public awareness of nature conservation.

The eco-centre will develop cross-border cooperation between institutions and organisations in the field of nature conservation, nature tourism and eco-tourism services. It is also intended to serve as a model for cooperation between local and regional authorities and a state organisation and the non-profit sector.

As an educational centre, the manor house will be open to the general public and offer a range of activities, such as workshops, educational programmes for schoolchildren and students, excursions, volunteer days, summer camps, cross-border conferences, new tourist attractions and presentations of natural attractions. The eco-centre will offer interactive education focused on the natural heritage of the region for both domestic and foreign visitors.

At the same time, the restoration of the Čunovo manor house, which dates back to the 18th Century, will also have due regard for the preservation of historically valuable architectural features. Renewable energy technologies and adaptation measures will be used in the renovation in order to minimise the environmental impact of the eco-centre. The renovation project will cover the entire grounds of the manor house, including the garden and the granary.
