United by Rivers: Flow, Friction, Future is an EU Local Dialogue organised by Rafał Trzaskowski (PL/EPP), Mayor of Warsaw and Member of the European Committee of the Regions. Bringing together local authorities, experts, residents and river communities, the two-day event explores how cities can balance environmental protection and climate resilience with urban development, public access, recreation and sustainable tourism. Through discussions on river restoration, biodiversity, waterfront regeneration and governance, participants will exchange experiences from Warsaw, across Poland and from European and international cities. The dialogue aims to connect local perspectives with European priorities, identify practical solutions and strengthen cooperation, culminating in the United by Rivers Declaration, a foundation for future partnerships and joint initiatives.
