  • Vision of Europe

The upcoming event "Dialogue between YEPs and Young People - Politics in Rome and the New Generations", organised by Fabrizio Santori (IT/ECR) in David Sassoli Hall – Metropolitan City of Rome Capital (Via IV Novembre 119a, Rome) aims to create a link between the young people and politics implemented through institutions. Although more and more politicians and representatives of state institutions in Italy are young, there is a certain lack of awareness of how important their vote is among youth in general. Particularly elections at the local level, which is the closest to the citizens, are an important step in one's participation in community life. Unfortunately, recently collected data show that the turnout at the voting polls is low and not fully supported by civil society and third sector.

The project within which this EU Local Dialogue takes place, aims to improve access and full participation of young people in community life, in their neighbourhood in Rome, stimulating their participation in political debate on the current issues. The event offers a structured dialogue between the representatives of youth groups from different areas of Rome and local decision makers, such as municipal and city councillors, including local Young Elected Politician (YEPs)
