Food waste is a major contributor to climate change, but local communities have the power to make a difference. This interactive event, organised by CoR member Csaba Borboly (RO/EPP),invites residents, students, chefs, hospitality professionals, and local decision-makers to explore practical solutions for reducing food waste and building a more sustainable future.

Participants will learn simple methods to cut food waste at home and in the hospitality sector, discover creative recipes that make use of less desirable meat cuts, and see how local food banks can benefit both communities and the environment. The programme will combine hands-on workshops, expert talks, and opportunities for community networking, encouraging households, businesses, and civil society to work together towards a more sustainable lifestyle in Harghita County.

By bringing together local residents, the hospitality and gastronomy sector, civil society organisations, experts, and local authorities, the event aims to raise awareness, inspire new habits, and strengthen collective action in the fight against food waste and climate change.
