This EU Local Dialogue, organised by Marie-Antoinette Maupertuis (FR/EA), President of the Corsican Assembly and President of the EA Group in the European Committee of the Regions (CoR), will bring together CoR members, regional and local representatives from Corsica, and citizens to discuss the future of EU Cohesion Policy in the post‑2027 programming period. The discussion will focus on how cohesion policy can continue to foster economic, social and territorial cohesion while responding to emerging challenges such as demographic change, competitiveness, climate transition, housing pressures, and the specific needs of islands, rural areas and other territories facing permanent structural constraints.
Participants will exchange views on the priorities of cohesion policy beyond 2027 and reflect on how it can better address territorial disparities and support all regions. Particular emphasis will be placed on the importance of a place‑based approach and multi‑level governance, while gathering the perspectives of regional and local representatives on the future of EU investment policies.
The dialogue aims to raise awareness of the ongoing discussions shaping the future of cohesion policy and to identify key priorities and recommendations emerging from regional and local actors. It will also strengthen the exchange between European institutions, territorial authorities and citizens, contributing to the broader debate on ensuring that cohesion policy remains a cornerstone of the European project after 2027.
