The CoR ECON commission and the European Entrepreneurial Regions 2025, Galicia, Krapina Zagorje and Mazovia, held a joint seminar dedicated to improving regulation and support services for SMEs.

The joint policy session served as the first ever meeting of the Forum of the European Entrepreneurial Regions (EER Forum), dedicated to "Improving regulation & support services for SMEs: A challenge for regions and the EU".

The event, opened by the Chair of the ECON commission, Alberto Cirio, featured an exchange of views on the EU's ongoing Simplification Agenda and its impact on SMEs in the regions and cities as well as a discussion on removing barriers to cross border entrepreneurial activity in the EU Single Market. Among the speakers on the panel were the European Commission (Anna Athanasopoulou from DG GROW) as well as the Eurochambres CEO (Ben Butters) and the CoR rapporteur for the Single Market Strategy (Lorenzo Galligani).

The EER 2025 regions presented some best practices aiming to improve the business environment, cutting red tape and removing barriers to entrepreneurship and rural and disadvantaged areas.
