Organised jointly by the Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship (Poland) and the Commission for Citizenship, Governance, Institutional and External Affairs (CIVEX) of the European Committee of the Regions , and structured around two sessions, the seminar will provide a platform for EU local and regional authorities bordering Russia to voice the geopolitical and security risks, foreign interference threats and social and economic challenges that they face since the beginning of the war against Ukraine. Members and guest speakers will also discuss new opportunities and best practices to promote local development and quality of life in light of this challenging context.
The seminar will feature panellists from the EU's border regions and various relevant institutional stakeholders, such as the European Commission and the European Parliament.
