The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) has long supported democratic governance, civic participation and people‑to‑people exchanges in the EU’s neighbourhood, including through close cooperation with the local partners in Georgia. By promoting dialogue, capacity‑building and youth engagement, the CoR helps strengthen local democracy and ensures that young voices are part of wider European conversations.
This EU Local Dialogue, organised by Robert Zeman (CZ/ECR) brings together young people from the Georgian town of Akhmeta and the South Bohemian town of Prachatice for an open, moderated discussion on their everyday lives, aspirations and challenges. Participants will share perspectives on education, family life, community involvement and their visions for the future, with active involvement from the public. The exchange aims to foster mutual understanding, encourage civic engagement and build lasting connections between young people in Georgia and the EU.
