The ENVE Commission will hold its next study visit in the Achterhoek region on 9-10 July, hosted by Ms Mol (NL/ECR). Several NAT Commission members will also join to explore and learn from strategies on water management and climate adaptation. The discussions will focus on area-based water management, urban climate resilience, with explanations on the 'Every Drop into the Ground project', and the Dutch-German collaboration on regional water governance.
During the visit, participants will have the opportunity to:
- Witness firsthand the potential impacts of flooding and water-related challenges in the residential area of De Huet.
- Examine climate adaptation measures in urban settings through a case study in the city of Zutphen.
- Observe an area-based approach to drought mitigation at Landgoed ’t Medler.
- Learn about the Every Drop Back into the Ground initiative, a key project in sustainable water management.
The programme will conclude with presentations on two major Dutch-German cooperative projects:
- The Cross-Border Platform for Regional Water Management (GPRW)
- Drought Strategies in Water Management (DIWA)
