ENVE works in fields related to the European Green Deal, which include the environment biodiversity, circular economy, zero pollution, climate change, energy, and space policies.
All information and guidelines contained in the study aim to build local energy self-sufficiency based on energy clusters and energy cooperatives, defined in Polish law as "prosumers". This is a particular roadmap for LGUs.
As part of the task, a document on the RES development concept in the municipalities of the GZM has been drawn up as one of the tools for achieving its energy self-sufficiency objective. This study was made available to the municipalities, which was followed by workshops for representatives of the GZM municipalities where the concept was discussed in detail. Approximately 30 people took part in the workshops, and since January 2022 representatives of the GZM municipalities had the opportunity to participate in consultations with energy community experts, which approximately 30 people took advantage of. The concept was made available on the GZM website (given above) and published in printed form and distributed during events organised by the GZM in cooperation with the City of Katowice during this year's Metropolitan Energy Days. The work was also made available to the members of the Commission for Local Energy Policy in the Silesian Association of Municipalities and Districts after its achievements were presented during an external meeting of this commission on 21 September 2022.
