ENVE works in fields related to the European Green Deal, which include the environment biodiversity, circular economy, zero pollution, climate change, energy, and space policies.
"Hyways for Future" is one of Germany's three "HyPerformer" regions, focusing on hydrogen production at industrial and storage sites and the use of hydrogen for mobility (fuelling stations, public transport buses, heavy transport, cleaning vehicles).
"Hyways for Future" entails the launch of a cross-sectoral, zero-emission fuel supply with green hydrogen in the metropolitan region of north-west and northern Germany. Due to the specific geological, geographical and infrastructural conditions in the coastal region, the project combines the factors of systemic utility, scalability and security of supply in a unique way.
The broad consortium brings together the sectors of industry, energy and transport. On the one hand, the project centres on the development of mobility-based green demand for hydrogen through the construction of hydrogen fuelling points and the acquisition of fuel cell vehicles in the major cities of the region. On the other hand, it focusses on zero-emission, high-efficiency production of green hydrogen at industrial and storage sites. The aim is to gradually expand the supply of and demand for green hydrogen across all sectors, reaching double-digit figures for terrawatt-hours, and thus leading to a 2% CO2 reduction in all German emissions.
