The event was built in partnership between the European Committee of the Regions and Région Sud under the aegis of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Département of Bouches-du-Rhône, the Métropole Aix-Marseille Provence, the City of Marseille and the Agence Nationale de la Cohesion des Territoires were all contributing partners to hosting the Summit.
The summit took place in the Marseille Chanot Congress and Exhibition Palace, located at the heart of the surprising City of Marseille, France's 2nd largest city.
