  • Cohesion Policy

Over four decades, European solidarity has helped modernise Spain’s infrastructure, strengthen its public services and boost innovation across all regions. From hospitals and research centres to sustainable transport systems, renewable energy projects and environmental protection initiatives, EU support has translated into tangible improvements in people’s daily lives.

The exhibition presents emblematic projects from across Spain that reflect how cohesion policy has reduced disparities, increased competitiveness and connected territories. It shows how European investment has empowered communities, fostered opportunity and reinforced resilience.

More than a retrospective, this exhibition is a celebration of a shared journey. It highlights how Spain has grown stronger within Europe - more innovative, more sustainable and more connected. Through images, data and real stories, visitors are invited to rediscover how Europe has become part of Spain’s social, economic and territorial development. Forty years on, this exhibition reminds us that Europe is not just an institution - it is a common project that continues to shape our present and our future.

The presentation (vernissage) of the exhibition will be held on the 24th of March at 13:30.

Access to the buildings of the EU institutions is possible but regulated. Only persons registered at an event (conference, meeting, etc.) in the JDE building where the exhibition is hosted can visit the exhibition.

Visitors who are interested in visiting the exhibition, should contact the organisers of the exhibition (whose contact details are available below), for an invitation for the exhibition presentation (vernissage).
