Your job and responsibilities

Our institution is seeking two new cost-free seconded national experts - one for the security sector and the other for the safety sector.

As a cost-free seconded national expert in the security sector, you will work at the operational and administrative levels, under the authority of the Head of Unit and Deputy Head of Unit, performing the following skills and tasks:

  • Participate in managing security in buildings (security of buildings and people);
  • Participate in supervising and managing service agents;
  • Assist in managing the accreditation service, including electronic management of visitors and access for staff and external contractors;
  • Assist in organizing security during plenary sessions and other events organized by the Committees;
  • Participate in evacuation drills and fire alerts.

As a cost-free seconded national expert in the safety sector, you will work at the operational and administrative levels, under the authority of the Head of Unit and Deputy Head of Unit, performing the following skills and tasks:

  • Participate in implementing the comprehensive prevention plan of the two Committees through various projects;
  • Help ensure the health and safety of workers, prevent workplace accidents and occupational diseases, and guarantee a healthy and safe working environment;
  • Participate in various risk assessments (risk identification, risk analysis, and risk prioritization) and seek the most appropriate mitigation measures;
  • Ensure a prevention mission in buildings (safety of buildings and people from a prevention perspective) and implement prevention measures during renovations;
  • Participate in evacuation drills.

Eligibility and selection criteria

Candidates for an SNE position must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be employed by a national, regional, or local public authority or an intergovernmental organization;
  • Have worked for at least three years, full-time, in an administrative, scientific, technical, advisory, or supervisory post;
  • Be nationals of a Member State of the European Union or a candidate country for accession;
  • Have been in the service of their current employer for at least twelve months; and
  • Be able to prove that their employer will continue to pay their salary, maintain their established or contractual employment status and guarantee their social rights and benefits, particularly as regards to social security and pension rights, throughout the period of secondment.

Candidates should fulfil the following selection criteria:

  • You have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another of these languages. For functional reasons, a very good command of French is required and a good knowledge of English is desirable.
