This is the latest edition of the Green Deal Funding Alert, a monthly newsletter that keeps you up to date with funding opportunities and initiatives that support sustainable development and the transition to climate neutrality. This edition presents a database of circular projects, funding opportunities for sustainable mobility in your city and consultations on attitudes to innovative financing instruments for energy and climate action.

1. Prospect+: Consultations on attitudes to innovative financing instruments for energy and climate action

Struggling to fund your energy transition? Your input can shape both the discussion at the PROSPECT+ Final Event and Policy Dialogue on 11 March 2025 and the final recommendations that the PROSPECT+ team will share with key players. Don't miss this chance to add your region's needs to the agenda!

Share your city or region's biggest financing challenges and needs in a quick survey

2. Sustainable Cities Mobility Challenge

Are you looking for funds to start a bold and impactful project which decarbonises transport, improves local air quality and accelerates the take-up of active, shared and collective mobility in your city?

Do you have the projects to create street space that allows healthy, active mobility and also incorporates greening (e.g. planters, trees, parklets, shrubs, pocket gardens)?

Climate KIC is running a Sustainable Cities Mobility Challenge, in which a city or town with a population of at least 25 000 can submit their project and be granted up to EUR 90 000.

Deadline: Wednesday 12 March 2025 (23:00 CET)

For more information on how to apply, check the Climate KIC website

3. Helping you connect with other European circular cities and regions – the new CCRI map

Would you like to get an overview of the strategies for transitioning to a more circular economy employed by other European cities and regions and learn about those diverse approaches? If so, this is the tool for you.

The Circular Cities and Regions Initiative (CCRI) supports Europe's circular economy at local and regional levels and aims to increase synergies among projects and initiatives, disseminate knowledge and give greater visibility to best practices. This month, a new interactive CCRI map has been introduced that allows you to explore the CCRI community more easily and identify circular projects according to their location and the sector targeted.
