Join the EURegionsWeek events on the green transition

EURegionsWeek 2025 offers top political sessions, workshops and networking. The sessions on the green strand lead up to the high-level EU Covenant of Mayors Ceremony, which is part of the "Close to you"-programme.

Wednesday, 15 October 2025, is especially dedicated to topics around climate resilience:

• Cities and regions are getting ready for COP30. In this session, representatives from the EU and global institutions exchange their ideas for an ambitious outcome. Networks within the Local Governments and Municipal Authorities Constituency (LGMA) present their official position for the negotiations.

• Join the Label Award Ceremony for Mission Cities and celebrate the progress of cities leading the way to climate neutrality.

• The EU Regions Talk "One plan, many gains: powering the cities of tomorrow" explores how spatial, energy and climate planning transforms the way cities prepare for the future.

• The CoR Green Deal Going Local Working Group brings together local and regional representatives who discuss the impact of numerous policy areas within the European Green Deal. During their meeting at EURegionsWeek, they will discuss how to shape a water-resilient Europe.

• Extreme weather events take a heavy toll on Europe. As the fastest-warming continent must adapt to the impacts of climate change, the session "Building a climate-resilient Europe: lessons from frontline communities" explores the role of local actors and experiences in finding solutions.

• On 16 October (09:00 – 13:00 CEST), don't miss out on the EU Covenant of Mayors Ceremony. The event will highlight how Europe's security, resilience and prosperity depends on close cooperation with its towns, cities and regions.
