The RegHub Network convened in Barcelona on 13–14 November for two days of exchange and  planning, hosted by the Barcelona Provincial Council.

On the first day, participants discussed ongoing and future RegHub consultations and attended a panel debate on the EU LGBTIQ+ and Gender Equality Strategies with representatives from the European Commission, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Government of Catalonia, and the CoR. Afternoon sessions reviewed the latest on EU cohesion policy and provided practical guidance on conducting RegHub consultations.

On the second day, the workshop continued with a discussion on cities’ and regions’ contributions to the EU’s simplification agenda, led by rapporteur Magdalena Czarzyńska-Jachim (PL/EA), mayor of the city of Sopot, and ended with an overview of upcoming activities of the network.

Participants also enjoyed study visits of the World Press Photo 2025 exhibition and UNESCO World Heritage Site, Palau Güell.

The CoR and RegHub warmly thank Oriol Vallès Freixas and his colleagues from the Barcelona Provincial Council for the excellent collaboration and for their hospitality.
