Maintenance of woodland at a time of major transformation following the expiry of the 20-year period established for grants of aid under Regulation (EEC) No 2080/92 is essential.

​​Some 20 years ago, a farmer planted trees to develop woodland on 11 hectares of land leased by the municipality, with a contribution from the European Community - Regulation (EEC) No 2080/92.

The time has now come make use of this wooded area, and the municipality of Novara has decided to purchase the trees growing there, granting fair compensation to the farmer, and to maintain them so that the local population can enjoy the young forest.
