Kungsbacka: Coordinated distribution of goods

Location: Kungsbacka, Gothenburg, Sweden

On this page

Our biggest environmental initiative ever: In Kungsbacka municipality we coordinate our goods transport for a better environment.

Coordinated distribution of goods means that the municipality has a groupage centre where the different suppliers run their goods. There, the different goods are then collected, so that what is going to the same place of work is run out at the same time. This means that deliveries of goods arrive simultaneously in the same truck and have done so since the start in November 2016.

Profits with Coordinated distribution of goods:

  • Reduced environmental impact through fewer transports and the possibility to impose requirements on more environmentally friendly vehicles.
  • Better working environment for staff receiving fewer deliveries
  • Better road safety around the municipality's premises
  • Reduced heavy traffic in the municipality.
  • Better conditions for small, local suppliers in procurement, as they only need to deliver goods to one place.
