In the context of societal and climate change, it is necessary to strive to preserve the large, valuable natural areas that will counteract the adverse environmental changes. These areas enable humans to exist harmoniously and preserve cultural and natural heritage.
The current global situation calls for public involvement in protecting cultural and natural assets and working to combat adverse environmental changes such as global warming and its consequences. The best way to convince people to take up active learning and develop ecological attitudes is to make use of local assets as well as education and practical demonstration of how residents can take part in this process themselves. As a continuation and supplement of previous actions undertaken in the Bory Tucholskie area, the Wdecki Landscape Park Centre for the Active Protection of Nature (WLP CAPN) works towards this goal.
The educational and tourism services of the CAPN will broaden and improve the recognition of the existing range of services at the WLP. Cyclical training and two-day and three-day workshops will not only serve to present the Park's cultural and natural assets, but will introduce a new standard of tourism services in the area covered by the action. The new CAPN will make it possible to organise recreational events that integrate the local community and promote the area and region as a whole. The WLP authorities and local government will be able to increase residents' access to various forms of recreation and develop new cultural and educational tourism in this area. At the same time, the current environmental situation requires active protection of nature to limit the range and amount of invasive flora and fauna and to combat them.
