The Automotive Regions Alliance is a political network of regions committed to the successful transition of the European automotive and supply industry. It aims at bringing together regions with a strong automotive and supply sector that want to play an active role in decarbonizing the transport sector and to contribute to the objectives of the European Green Deal, while strengthening regional industrial ecosystems and value creation. The goal of the Alliance is to ensure that the sustainable transformation of road transport and the automotive sector in the EU leaves no region behind and to secure economic and social cohesion in every European region impacted by the transition.
At the meeting, the political representatives of the regions will underline the need to achieve a joint transition mechanism which must including all relevant stakeholders, from local and regional authorities, car manufactures, supply industry, trade unions and educational and training institutions, research and development, etc. As part of the meeting there will also be a tour of an automotive plant of a Navarre-based car manufacturer with special attention to our subject of change in the automotive industry.
