The European Committee of the Regions and DG R&I of the European Commission are pleased to invite you to this seminar organised in the framework of their longstanding Knowledge Exchange Platform project.

The event will take place on Tuesday, 14 May 2024, from 14:00 to 17:30, at the CoR, in Brussels. Its subject will be "Knowledge valorisation for the regional and local R&I ecosystems". It will be held back-to-back with a workshop co-organised with the EESCon Exploring Artificial Intelligence in R&D, taking place from 9:30 to 13:00.

The objective of the renewed KEP 2.0 initiative is to enable the exchange of new R&I solutions and best practices, by organizing horizontal seminars in Brussels, and promoting so-called peer-to-peer and showcasing events on the ground. It allows for an efficient dialogue and transfer of expertise on R&I issues with European cities and regions, businesses, universities and citizens.

European research excellence is commendable, yet there's a vital need to boost knowledge valorisation. This involves leveraging research outcomes to create social and economic value through sustainable products, services, and policies. Regional and local authorities play a crucial role by implementing R&I policies and programs.

This seminar will focus on how regions and cities can foster knowledge valorisation and boost innovation ecosystems translating knowledge into innovative solutions. It will draw upon practical experiences gained from the Mutual Learning Exercise on Knowledge Valorisation and from the Committee's Members.

We look forward to welcoming you in the audience!
