The CoR is in the process of drafting an legislative opinion on Connecting Europe Facility 2028-2034 Regulation.

The rapporteur for this opinion, Mr Droba, President of Bratislava Region, would be pleased to meet representatives of local and regional authorities and other relevant stakeholders for a consultation and exchange of views on the relevant topics of this opinion.

With the presentation of the new proposal for the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) for the period 2028-2034, as part of the European Commission’s reform of the Multiannual Financial Framework, the debate on the future of EU investment in cross-border transport and energy infrastructure has entered a decisive phase. The  CoR will be among the first EU institutions to adopt an official position on the new CEF regulation. The draft opinion is planned for adoption at the meeting of the COTER Commission on 5 February 2026 and at the CoR Plenary on 06-07 May 2026 (tbc).

The rapporteur has prepared a working document that will provide a basis for the discussion: COTER-VIII/007 Connecting Europe Facility 2028-2034 Regulation.

The exchange will be interactive and primarily focused on stakeholders' input and presentation of their views on the subject.

The meeting will be held in English.

Please note: The rapporteur would also be grateful to receive written contributions; you may send your input to the COTER secretariat at coter@cor.europa.eu by 21 November.

Participation will be possible either in person at the Committee of the Regions (CoR), 101 rue Belliard, 1040 Brussels, room JDE 51, or online via Microsoft Teams (the link to access the meeting will be sent to all registered participants a few days before the meeting)
