Your job and responsibilities
Are you interested in the latest innovations in conference equipment and interpretation? Do you have experience, knowledge and skills in the field of audio-visual conference equipment? Are you interested in working with a motivated and dynamic team within the European Committee of the Regions (CoR)? Then this job is for you.
The world of interpretation and audio-visual equipment is changing rapidly with the introduction of web and cloud-based services for conferences, remote interpretation and audio-visual solutions. As an administrator in the audio-visual field, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning as well as the future-oriented development of the CoR's audio-visual installations.
As an administrator in the audio-visual field, your duties will consist in:
- planning and managing the work of the audio-visual team;
- managing projects by conducting feasibility studies, carrying out cost assessments; creating working groups, drafting technical specifications, planning, supervising work, following up on the installations' synergies, solving potential problems;
- drawing up the list of equipment to be purchased;
- negotiating with the Unit’s partners: the European Economic and Social Committee in the framework of cooperation agreement, other directorates (Infrastructure, IT, etc.), and external companies;
- Reporting on team activities and project progress to the hierarchy.
As an operational initiating agent, your mission will be to:
- organise calls for tenders (within or outside of the framework contract) and getting contract documents from suppliers;
- create Adonis files and work with the various actors in the financial circuit;
- find solutions in case of difficulties so that verifiers can validate files.
As a member of the audio-visual team, you will also be required to perform the following tasks:
- configure and supervise the conference rooms locally and remotely;
- manage the audio-visual infrastructure: streaming and recording systems, digital signage, mobile sound and video systems, and videoconferencing solutions with remote interpretation;
- provide technical support during plenary sessions at the European Parliament and European Commission, as well as during CoR events;
- ensure active technology watch: monitoring innovations in audio-visual solutions, participating in professional trade shows, managing pilot projects and technical experiments.

JOB-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- You have sound experience as a conference technician and are used to following established procedures.
- You are at ease with handling IT-based applications and processes in the field, you are analytical and rational.
- You have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another of the EU official languages. For operational reasons, a high level of English is required, and a satisfactory knowledge of French would be an asset.
ASSETS
- Previous experience in the field in an EU institution is a strong asset.
- Good knowledge of cloud-based solutions and relevant specialised programming skills is considered a good asset.
