The conference “Cohesion 2050: il ruolo dell'Emilia-Romagna nell'Europa che cambia” aims to promote dialogue on the future of European cohesion policy post-2027. Themes will include the future of cohesion policy in the next EU budget, the role of regions and cities in achieving territorial cohesion, and the importance of partnerships and local governance. Special focus will be given to the experiences and priorities of the Emilia-Romagna Region and Italian regions, in synergy with European institutions.

The format will feature institutional greetings, keynote speeches, and thematic roundtables with the participation of representatives from the European Commission, the European Committee of the Regions, the Conference of Italian Regions, the national government, regional governments, and local authorities.

The main objectives are to share perspectives, enhance the role of local and regional authorities in shaping cohesion policies, and contribute to the European debate on the post-2027 framework.

This hybrid event is organized by the Emilia-Romagna Region, Italy, with the collaboration of Alessio Mammi (IT/PES), full member of the European Committee and the presence of Mrs. Kata TÜTTŐ, President of the European Committee of the Regions.
