This EU Local Dialogue is organised by CoR member Nathalie Sarrabezolles (FR/PES) to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The objective is to showcase the political action and commitments being implemented to combat gender-based and sexual violence, from the local level to the European level, illustrating these efforts with examples of programmes that have been put in place.

The event will be held at the Foyer Laïque de Saint-Marc in Brest, a community center run by an association that strives to support individuals in their personal development and in the formation of free and responsible citizens in a society of social progress. All interested individuals are invited to participate in the discussion, including community activists, young people, and local elected officials.

The expected results are: the facilitation of a citizen debate for greater democratic vitality, mobilisation against gender-based violence, greater visibility of local actions undertake, and a call to multiply projects that contribute to the fight against violence, and a better understanding of the European Union and its actions.
