The EU Ports Strategy and Industrial Maritime Strategy

The European Committee of the Regions (CoR), together with the European Commission's DG MOVE, is organising an online event dedicated to the recently published EU Ports Strategy and Industrial Maritime Strategy.
The event will provide an opportunity to present and discuss the main objectives, priorities and territorial implications of the two initiatives.
The rapporteur of the forthcoming CoR opinion on the EU Ports Strategy, Kevin Cauchi, Mayor of Għajnsielem, will present his initial reflections and orientations on the file, alongside representatives of the European Commission and relevant stakeholders.
On behalf of the CoR, the exchange will focus on the territorial dimension of the strategies, including implications for port regions an cities, hinterland connectivity, energy transition, industrial competitiveness, resilience, security and multilevel governance.
Participation will be online only; the link to connect will be sent to all registered participants a few days before the meeting.
The meeting will be held in English only.
Please note that the CoR does not cover expenses and does not provide any allowance for attending this meeting.
