Following the EU-Republic of Moldova Association Council decision of 28 May 2026, the Joint Consultative Committee on relations between the European Committee of the Regions and the Republic of Moldova, will meet on 15 September 2026 in Chişinău. The discussions will focus on the ongoing public administration reform that aims to strengthen local and regional authorities on Moldova's path to EU accession.
A number of high-level speakers, Moldovan and international, will address the meeting, including Alexei Buzu, Secretary General of Moldova's Government; Konstantinos Koukas, President of the Chamber of Local Authorities and Vice-President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, CoR members from Poland and Latvia to contribute to the discussion by sharing good practices and lessons learnt from the public administration reforms undergone by their countries in the path to EU accession.
The main topics to be discussed are the state of play of Moldova's EU accession process and the ongoing public administration reform in the country.
