The 14th meeting of the EU Platform on Food Losses and Food Waste (of which CoR and EESC are members) aims to facilitate sharing of information, learning and best practice in food waste prevention, as a way to support all Member States and stakeholders across the food supply chain to prepare for meeting the future legislative obligations: the EU food waste reduction targets, adopted by the Commission on 05 July and currently under negotiation with the European Parliament and Council. During the meeting, there will be an update given by the Commission and EU agencies on developments related to EU food waste prevention work in various policy areas and programmes, as well as an update by co-chairs of the EU Platform's subgroups on the work carried out in 2023 in these subgroups.

This will be the second day of the meeting, with the first to take place on 07 November as follows: event with citizens' from the European Citizens' panels on food waste at Charlemagne in the morning and first part of the Platform meeting at CCAB in the afternoon.
