This interactive seminar will foster exchanges of experience between ECON members and local and regional representatives on how to support Europe’s reindustrialisation, strengthen strategic value chains, accelerate industrial decarbonisation and ensure that the transition delivers quality jobs and territorial cohesion. Building on the EU proposal for an Industrial Accelerator Act and the Clean Industrial Deal, the discussion will examine how regions can turn EU industrial policy into practical investment, permitting, procurement and skills strategies.
Valencia offers a particularly relevant setting for this debate: the region is pursuing a dedicated reindustrialisation strategy, hosts major investments in battery production and automotive transformation, and is developing green hydrogen and port decarbonisation projects that can serve energy-intensive industries and clean mobility.
As a follow-up to the seminar, participants will take part in a study visit to Industrias Alegre, in Albal (Valencia), one of the companies most severely affected by the catastrophic flooding caused by the DANA floods in October 2024. Today, Industrias Alegre is once again at the forefront of advanced manufacturing, developing innovative solutions for the automotive sector while integrating sustainability, circularity and digitalisation into its production processes. The company has become a remarkable example of how resilience, innovation and long-term strategic vision can transform an unprecedented crisis into an opportunity for industrial renewal, providing a tangible example of resilient reindustrialisation in practice.
