Hosted by the Republic of Korea, the 2025 campaign focuses on ending plastic pollution globally.

In support of this global call to action, UNEP will convene an intergenerational dialogue in Brussels, bringing together EU policymakers, youth, representatives from subnational authorities, and civil society to reflect on the past, present, and future of plastics.

Discussions will address the historical development of plastics, their environmental impacts, and the global response through key multilateral processes, such as the INC negotiations.

Upholding the principles of the Future Generation Declaration under the Pact for the Future, the event aims to promote meaningful exchanges across generations and stakeholders on ending plastic pollution. By bridging the perspectives of youth and elders, the dialogue will foster cross-generational learning and engagement with the public. These conversations will identify common ground and seek to generate actionable solutions to plastic pollution.
