This project contributes to sustainable waste management.

The "+ Agriculture + Responsibility + Environment" project was developed with farmers in the municipal area and its main aim was to integrate environmental best practices into the agricultural sector. In particular, it focused on the management of agricultural waste, which, by nature, cannot be included in the collection of urban household waste.

The idea for this project arose due to the scale of agricultural activity, which involves more than three thousand farmers, and due to the observation that a lot of agricultural waste was ending up in collection containers for household waste or abandoned in fields or on farm roads.

The project included holding participatory workshops for farmers, which provided the opportunity to hear about existing environmental practices. It also included technical visits to waste collection, storage, sorting and processing facilities where they could learn about the circular process involved in waste management. The technical team also visited farms as part of the project, with the aim of identifying good environmental practices and adjusting them to suit the particular conditions on each farm.
