This 2-day hybrid event, hosted by the European Committee of the Regions, is designed to provide space and opportunity for the national and regional authorities and their scientific agencies representatives to discuss their problems and find answers to their most urgent questions, in direct exchange with DG ENV and representatives from other Member States.
Themes to be addressed in this networking event are:
- The most appropriate ways to deliver guidance, including on legal requirements for SSCOs.
- Issues concerning the completeness of the knowledge base and the filling of data gaps.
- Identify what information is considered compulsory, and where there should be flexibility.
- The link between SSCOs, favourable conservation status and appropriate assessments.
- Other challenges when applying SSCOs in practice.
The event will provide answers to the most challenging questions that authorities are facing regarding setting and implementing SSCOs.
