Stakeholder Consultation - COTER-VII/044 - Metropolitan regions and functional urban areas as socio-economic drivers of sustainable investment in the 2021-2027 cohesion policy framework
The CoR works on an own-initiative opinion to examine the role of metropolitan regions and functional urban areas in cohesion policy and to provide recommendations to the forthcoming EC agenda for cities.
The CoR rapporteur Carmine PACENTE (Renew E./IT), together with the COTER Commission secretariat, is organising a stakeholder consultation to collect input on implementation of sustainable urban development strategies and use of territorial delivery tools of cohesion policy and other urban-related funding instruments.
On 13 December 2024 (from 10:30 to 12:30), the rapporteur is meeting the interested stakeholders at the premises of the European Committee of the Regions (room JDE 70, Rue Belliard 101, B-1040 Brussels). A working document, prepared by the rapporteur, will be the basis for the discussion. This event can also be followed online. Please note that no reimbursement will be offered for attending this event.

The CoR commission for Territorial Cohesion Policy and EU Budget (COTER) will discuss the draft opinion at its meeting of 13 March 2025. Adoption is planned at the CoR plenary meeting on 14-15 May 2025.
