LIFE-IP MAŁOPOLSKA aims to speed up the implementation of actions to improve air quality, which were planned as part of the Air Quality Plan for Małopolska.

Residents of 62 municipalities in Małopolska can count on the professional support of 67 eco-managers. As part of the LIFE Integrated Project, eco-managers have:

  • organised over five thousand meetings with the participation of over 400 thousand residents and children,
  • given advice to almost 600 thousand people,
  • surveyed over three thousand buildings with thermographic cameras,
  • carried out over 10 thousand controls on burning of waste and fuel,
  • distributed more than one million educational materials,
  • processed over 17 thousand funding applications,
  • obtained EUR 453 million in additional funding.

As a result of the LIFE Integrated Project, since 2015:

  • more than 50 thousand solid fuel boilers have been replaced in Małopolska,
  • 14 700 controls of compliance with the anti-smog resolution have been carried out,
  • two editions of post-graduate studies were organised for 116 eco-managers and municipal employees,
  • 480 employees of municipalities and police forces received training in control procedures concerning illegal incineration of waste and the requirements of anti-smog regulations,
  • a cycle of training courses on such things as the inventory of heating of buildings in Małopolska was organised,
  • three regional media campaigns were developed.

These actions and their results will be expanded and enhanced through the new LIFE ECO-MAŁOPOLSKA Integrated Project Regional Action Plan for Climate and Energy, which will run from 2021 to 2030.
