Due to its capacity for replication, transfer and internationalisation, Electromove will demonstrate the economic and technical feasibility of electrical induction as an alternative to the internal combustion engine, significantly reducing oil consumption.

In order to help fight climate change and improve people's quality of life and health, the Directorate-General for Mobility is launching the Electromove project as part of the Regional Government of Andalusia's public procurement of innovation. Its long-term objectives are to: increase the use of public transport and replace combustion engines with electric-based motors, with priority being given to electricity from renewable sources.

Within the public transport sector, it seeks to improve productivity, sustainability and service quality indicators by using new energy technologies, large-scale incorporation of renewable energy sources and by applying artificial intelligence in the design, production and operation of platforms, infrastructure and systems.

Electromove aims to become a benchmark for induced electricity powered public transport. Objectives that can be achieved in the short term: creating and validating the Electromove Dedicated Experimental Platform as a unique unit for study, testing and experimentation in electrified metropolitan public mobility, and as a controlled environment for fostering innovation between businesses and research centres; demonstrating real scale technical and economic feasibility.
