OUR WAY project in Podkarpackie

​Participation in the OUR WAY project and the knowledge and experience obtained show that it is essential to take action to protect natural and cultural heritage through greenways and bicycle trails. Podkarpackie is a region with unique natural and cultural assets in Europe. Thanks to the experience and solutions applied by project partners, it is planned to increase interest in using greenways and bike trails in Podkarpackie and to maintain, protect and develop the rich cultural and natural heritage of the region. These actions will have a positive impact on the environment and living conditions of residents and tourists and will also have a positive impact on their health.

The following planned actions will be implemented:

• The creation of a sub-panel for greenways and regional trails as part of the Quality of Life panel of the RIS3 2014-2020 Strategy,
• Development of a plan for greenways and regional bike trail routes in Podkarpackie and other documents necessary for developing active and eco-tourism,
• Development of the documentation necessary to develop networks of tourist bike trails in Bieszczady and connecting them to the Green Velo bike trail using technical solutions tested by OUR WAY project partners and identification and description of places that would be attractive to tourists that are accessible via this trail make a significant contribution to the objectives and substance of the European Green Deal.
