People want to help nature. To maximise their efforts there needs to be coordination between communities, businesses, academia and state agencies at a landscape level. Helping nature must also be based on research and best practice and focus on the positive ways we can all help.
Wild Work is a not-for-profit initiative of SECAD partnership. There is a growing enthusiasm among communities and businesses to help nature, but it is not always clear how to go about this. We saw a need for a professional, expert service to help people to do the right thing for nature, that could coordinate between communities, state agencies, businesses, farming and academia. We provide services across these sectors including ecological consultation, education, Biodiversity Action Plans, habitat mapping and habitat management. Our work with businesses helps companies discover, protect and promote on-site biodiversity, bringing the health benefits of engaging with nature to their staff. We offer nature friendly landscaping, exploring ways to manage green spaces for people and nature.
Helping nature is only part of Wild Work’s goal, we see helping people as just as important, hence our slogan - Helping People, Help Nature, Help People.
