On 26 June 2024, the EuComMeet final conference will present the outcomes of the Horizon 2020 project, to showcase the results of the deliberative event on Green Deal topics and to illustrate the main features of the Deliberative Spaces Platform.

The open-source and interoperable platform offers a flexible and scalable solution for engaging citizens in deliberation processes, and it can be used, adapted and improved for future use by cities, in particular small and medium-sized ones, and other entities such as public administrations, regional authorities, research centres and universities that are willing to foster the debate and launch online discussion processes.

The event will gather approximately 80 participants including representatives of the European institutions, academics, local and regional representatives and experts in participatory democracy, and it will consist of three main panels.

The first session will explore the challenges to democratic participation, the second session will focus on citizens' deliberation on environmental and Green Deal topics based on the project's results while the third panel will analyse tools, platforms and technologies to support deliberative processes.

Each panel will be followed by a Q&A session that will stimulate the debate and a final keynote speech will be given by a Member of Commissioner Šuica's Cabinet, who will address the challenges of promoting deliberative democracy through digital technologies.
