The European Committee of the Regions hosts the EU Green Week partner event "Innovative & resilient water basin management for cities and regions".

UDiTE the European Federation of Local Government Chief Executives will join forces  with VEOLIA to discuss about water as a resource of fundamental economic value.

With uncertainty stemming from conflicts on Europe’s borders, climate change and the challenges of recovering from the recent pandemic, it is at the local level where the impacts of these threats occur. Water basin management is a major priority for cities & regions, industries, and citizens. Water is a resource of fundamental economic value and without water, there is no local economy! A series of innovative case studies will illustrate how innovation, behavioural change & circularity schemes at water basin management level are helping communities to become more water resilient & thrive.

Speakers will come from the public and private sectors and the event will focus on the added value of community and bottom-up initiatives that are vital to the future quality of life and prosperity of our cities and regions.
