The Central Cornellà is a historic industrial complex where the industrial garden landscape has been recovered and restored – a unique example in the region.
The main objective is to create a sustainable and green area that is pleasant, without losing sight of its original industrial purpose, bringing an environmental and scenic aspect to the area. T
he museumification of these facilities that are largely still used for their original purposes is very much appreciated. This preservation process is complemented by the restoration of the industrial garden, which has been part of the complex since its beginnings and has become a symbol of the identity of the area over the years, incorporating elements such as cast fountains and the reconstructed Gaudí fountain, which embody the world of water.
The recovery of the industrial garden is part of a comprehensive project to improve, restore and refurbish the site's heritage and landscape. The added value is learning about water cycle management and its relationship with climate change, as warming temperatures affect water resources, flora and fauna.
