Climate and demographic change as well as the geopolitical situation require new approaches to planning and investing into Europe’s future transport infrastructure.
How can future transport infrastructure be planned to simultaneously promote regional development, resilience, and security? How can the wider benefits of cross-border transport infrastructure be assessed? What lessons can be drawn from previous large-scale cross-border transport infrastructure projects?
These questions are at the core of the Scandria Alliance Seminar organised back-to-back to the Connecting Europe Days 2026 in the premises of the European Committee of the Regions.
Expert interventions about wider benefits of large-scale infrastructure projects, military mobility and the effects of the Öresund fixed link will set the scene for a high-level panel reflection, including Robert Crumbach, the Brandenburg Minister for Infrastructure and State Planning, Marco Griguolo, Metropolitan Councillor for Infrastructure, Metropolitan City of Milan (Italy) and president of the METREX Network and Julia Gruber, Head of Communications at BBT SE.
