The 12th meeting of Working Group on Ukraine of the Commission for Citizenship, Governance, Institutional and External Affairs (CIVEX) of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is taking place in the CoR premises (JDE53) in Brussels, Belgium on 20 November 2026.
The meeting will focus particularly on the current state of reforms necessary for EU accession and on the role of local and regional authorities in addressing the plight of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. Additionally, this meeting will be the occasion for an exchange on the local and regional dimension of the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2027, taking place on 27-29 January 2027 in Tallinn, Estonia.
NOTE: this Working Group on Ukraine meeting is tentatively scheduled in case the provisions for the establishment of a Joint Consultative Committee with Ukraine are not finalised on time to allow for its inaugural first meeting to take place. Expectantly, it be possible to hold the inaugural Joint Consultative Committee between the Committee of the Regions and Ukraine, the new bilateral body composed of CoR Members, representing the EU cities and regions, and elected local and regional representatives of Ukraine, on 20 November 2026, in CoR premises (JDE53) in Brussels, Belgium.
