Your job and responsibilities

Are you an experienced assistant with an interest in communication and media? Are you interested the visibility and impact of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and its members? 

Within the Press sector of Unit D.1, your role would include:

  • providing administrative support to management;
  • coordinating publication on the CoR website and sending of press releases via Dynamics;
  • inviting journalists, liaising between the CoR services and external or internal service providers;
  • managing journalist databases;
  • contributing to the media monitoring work, including audiovisual media monitoring;
  • contributing to the shaping and organisation of media events (press conferences, press briefings etc.) as well as internal trainings and workshops for the press team;
  • contributing to the digital development of the Unit in close collaboration with the Head of Unit and the Digital Workplace Network; 
  • contributing to the spatial development of the Unit via the SPaCES project;
  • conducting budget/contract management and acting as OIA.

Job-specific requirements

  • You assess critically the credibility and reliability of sources, data and information and use relevant digital tools to carry out the duties.
  • You possess thorough knowledge of digital tools such as SharePoint and Dynamics and understand how to apply them to the work of the Unit.
  • You have experience in Meltwater as a media monitoring and reporting tool.
  • You have experience in coordinating and executing complicated tasks, including with outside contractors or inside contractors.
  • You have experience working with budgets and contracts, and with external stakeholders and journalists.
  • You have a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another of the EU official languages. For functional reasons, a high level of English is required. A good level of Dutch and Spanish would be an advantage.

Assets

  • Knowledge of internal systems such as ABAC & Adonis is desirable.
  • Experience in working with the press is an advantage.
