This seminar, organised by Pehr Granfalk (SE/EPP) in Lidingö city hall, brings together decision‑makers, public officials, researchers and practitioners to explore how Artificial Intelligence can be practically implemented in municipalities and regions. The discussion will focus on bridging the gap between EU‑level policy and local realities, highlighting how AI can support better public services, greater efficiency and innovation at local and regional level.

Participants will examine concrete use cases from municipalities, opportunities and risks of AI in the public sector, and the regulatory framework governing its deployment, with particular attention to the implications of the EU AI Act for local and regional authorities. Through keynote contributions and a panel discussion, speakers will share practical experiences, address regulatory and ethical challenges, and reflect on responsible AI implementation. The event aims to strengthen understanding, identify barriers, and ensure that local and regional perspectives contribute to the ongoing European debate on Artificial Intelligence.
