An expert conference will bring together DG REGIO Director-General Themis Christophidou, former EU Commissioner for Regional Policy Danuta Hübner, NATO Parliamentary Assembly Secretary General Benedetta Berti, experts from leading European think tanks, and representatives of eastern border regions.
Geopolitical instability has a particularly strong impact on the security and economic development of regions along the EU’s eastern border. Mitigating its negative effects requires appropriate support mechanisms.
The event aims to facilitate the exchange of views and draw attention to the challenges facing the EU’s eastern regions.
