ENVE works in fields related to the European Green Deal, which include the environment biodiversity, circular economy, zero pollution, climate change, energy, and space policies.
The Green Guide is a ground-breaking tool - fully practical, replicable and constantly updated. Greening public procurement means having a visible impact on climate neutrality and encouraging private initiative in order together to achieve a change of model.
The Green Guide (Guía Verde) comes against a backdrop of climate emergency and the necessary green post-COVID reconstruction, and seeks to boost a paradigm shift towards a circular, inclusive and sustainable model, harnessing the exemplary value of Valencia's public administration as a driving force for greener public procurement.
It is a jointly-designed, replicable, straightforward and user-friendly tool systematising a series of environmental measures that crystallise technical and academic know-how in this area, which those involved can easily integrate into their tendering procedures. This will contribute to the necessary ecological transformation and reinforce innovation as a key mechanism for tackling current challenges and achieving greater resilience.
The measures are grouped by subject: passive energy-saving measures, active energy efficiency and water-saving measures, lifecycles, sustainable products and waste management.
The Green Guide seeks to ensure respect for the environment, social well-being and balanced growth that meets people's needs without compromising the quality of life of future generations.
Only two months after its presentation in June 2020, the Green Guide has generated considerable interest, reflected in more than a thousand visits to the website, more than 500 downloads and significant media impact.
