This event is hosted by the President of the Government of the Autonomous Community of Castile-La Mancha and CoR Member Emiliano García-Page Sánchez, and will take place in Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real, Spain.

The forum is primarily conceived as a space for direct exchange and active listening with citizens and local stakeholders who have a direct interest in the future of the agricultural sector.

Topics: the discussions will focus on the main barriers to generational renewal, including access to land and finance, farm profitability, the role of the CAP, training, innovation and digitalisation, as well as living conditions and services in rural areas. Attention will be paid to the specific challenges faced by women and young people in agriculture and rural areas.

Main objective: to facilitate direct dialogue with farmers, young people, women, professional organisations, cooperatives, local authorities and other territorial actors, including women’s associations, to gather experiences, concerns and proposals at local and regional level.

Format: the forum will combine short political interventions by CoR members with three panel discussions and an open dialogue session to encourage active participation.

Expected results: concrete input from citizens and stakeholders to enrich the opinion, improve the alignment of EU policies with territorial realities, and strengthen local governance to promote a sustainable and attractive agricultural sector for future generations.
