The event “Operational Programmes in the Fruit and Vegetable Sector in the Context of the 2028–2034 MFF and the Revision of the CMO” takes place as part of the programme of MACFRUT 2026, the international fruit and vegetable trade fair held at the Rimini Expo Centre from 21 to 23 April. Promoted by Alessio Mammi (IT/PES) in his capacity as Regional Councillor for Agriculture and EU Relations of the Emilia-Romagna Region and rapporteur of the European Committee of the Regions opinion on the common market organisation in agricultural products and EU School schemes, the meeting is conceived as a platform for dialogue and contribution feeding into the drafting of the CoR opinion.

Following introductory presentations outlining current proposals and the state of play of discussions at EU level, the event is structured as an open consultation with stakeholders and representatives of the fruit and vegetable supply chain, with a particular focus on producer organisations and their associations. Discussions will address the future of the sector in the context of the 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework, the forthcoming Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), and the revision of the Common Marken Organisation (CMO) Regulation. This local dialogue forms part of the participatory process underpinning the CoR opinion on the CMO and EU School Scheme and precedes the European stakeholder consultation to be held in Brussels on 23 April.
